30% percent of the time we both wished silently for some music so that it would feel more purposeful and deep to sit there with the rocks. Finally, coping with the silence, we had to accept that some things were just better without the headphones on. And it is a hard lesson learned; know when to take them off.
So I guess the other 30% of our time we spent wishing we were intoxicated, not because we were unhappy, but because it always made things feel more natural. What is natural and when did we loose it?
Another 30% of our time was spent trying to describe Nelson Ledges with words, even though we could both see it for ourselves. Trying shyly to connect with each other we came up with adjectives and comparisons and imagined we were here and there and everywhere. Finally we stopped talking completely and just existed together. Forcing down an awkward silence; we let it grow until it was comfortable.
That last 10% is what we came for.
Accepting and satisfied, things can be perfect just as they are among the trees.

Poor mice and men. We'll search for that 10% till they put us in the ground.
